TASK 1 : LATEST IT GADGET (SONY
XPERIA-Z)
In task 1, we have chosen Sony Xperia-Z
as one of the latest IT gadget. This is
because it is built with the latest and most updated software and functions.
The body is designed slim and sleek which enables the phone to easily fit into
the users hand. It is also water-proof which is one of the latest security technology
that is being developed.
TASK 2 : BUSINESS INFORMATION SYSTEM
(BIS) A SUMMARY
Business and information system are
two most important elements that works together efficiently. A business will
not be able to develop or to go through a revolution without the assistance of
information system. Information systems allow a business to run smoothly and
enables a business to improve into a better level.
TASK 3 : THE IMPORTANCE OF SOFT SKILLS
IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT)
Soft skills should not be undervalued
as it plays an important part in a company’s development. Each subordinates
should be able to develop soft skills as this is allows them to easily
communicate with customers or clients. Working in the IT services industry,
soft skills plays an important role in which each IT engineers should have.
TASK 4 : INFORMATION SYSTEM AND
REVOLUTION (TANGO)
Tango is free video calling service
that connects people around the world with friends and family from wherever
they are. Through Tango, we can see how information system has develop into a
whole new advanced communicating system. From smoke signals to paper and pen
and exchanging photographs, people nowadays are able to have video conversation
for free by using Tango.
TASK 5 : ORGANIZATION STRATEGY IN
MARITIME INDUSTRY (PETRONAS)
In this task, we have chosen PETRONAS
as an example in the maritime industry. The brief history of PETRONAS is
explained as well as their missions, vision and strategy. Through their
strategy we are able to understand how they plan to develop their company into
a better state which is more environmentally friendly and beneficial to the
people.
TASK 6 : BUSINESS DRIVERS OF
INFORMATION SYSTEM (TANJUNG PELEPAS PORT)
There are six known business drivers
of information system (IS). All six business drivers of IS ; operational
excellence, new products, services and business models, customer and supplier
intimacy, improved decision making, competitive advantages and survival are
explained through the operation of Tanjung Pelepas Port (PTP). Through the
business drivers we can conclude that PTP has high potential to develop into
something bigger than what it is in the time being.
